Today, on CNN, there was a story about the increasing suicide rate among persons in economic distress, and that, as a result, suicide counseling centers were "on alert" to deal with the crisis. I am curious. What sort of help does a suicide center give to a person who is facing foreclosure or other economic adversity? Do they lend him money? Do they pay his debts? Or does Pollyana merely tell him that "tomorrow will be a better day"? The person calling might not be persuaded. What sort of help do they give?
they have a list of places people can find shelter, food and caring people if a family looses their home
they also suggest solutions, appropriate agencies to contact to get whatever help you need
no they will not give you money, but they will use their contacts to get you immediate help when you need it. mostly a referral type of thing, that will give you avenues to follow when you feel you are all out of options
