Within the speech I will be speaking about suicide rates, suicidal behavior, common ways of suicide, and how suicidal people can get help. So yeah, does anyone have any ideas to how I can start off and end a speech about teenage suicide?

I THINK IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL IF YOU JUST STARTED OFF BY SAYING RANDOM STATISTICS ABOUT suicide. Something like (don’t mind the statistics i made them up) this look around the room, 44% OF ATHLETES WILL/HAVE COMMITED SUICIDE, 12% of students attending private school have/will commit suicide,10% of students commiting suicide weren’t on drugs 15% of students living in normal middle class households will/have commit suicide, 30% of teens who have/will commit suicide have totally oblivious friends, 20% of students who commit suicide had shocked teachers and parents, 70% of people who knew students who commit suicide had no idea it was coming. Now look around the room, do these people seem happy, think about it. (then talk about like how you can help this stop) GOOD LUCK!!!!

The stock market had collapsed during the Great depression. All the businesses were affected. Suddenly people found themselves in deep debt. They lost sight of all hope. Suicides were common.
I think such a situation that is so full of hopelessness can be a reason to resort to the dreary action called suicide.

Well, what I’m about to explain to you is a little different then what you’re asking but I think it still fits in the subject. My friend’s dad had past away about last month and she was under a deep depression. She was kind of like a daddy’s girl so you understand what shes doing through. She wanted to go commit suicide because of her father’s death. She took a totally of 15 tylenos to give herself an overdose. She was in the hospital for about 2-3 weeks. In which countries is an unsuccessful attempt to commit suicide a criminal offence?
I do not mean assisted suicide, abetment or euthanasia, but a simple case of where a person attempts to commit suicide, and fails. I want to know which countries consider this to be a criminal offence.
In all countries, it’s a criminal offense. However, if you are a terrorist suicide bomber and you succeed, you and your family are revered and praised. If you are a terrorist suicide bomber and you don’t succeed, you are a coward and will probably be hung.
How do I get someone I know not to commit suicide?

Yeah, I am planning on telling a counsler, but we don’t go back to school until Tuesday. He could do a number of things by then.
First, don’t tell him it’s stupid, he may shut down all together. You should tell the school counselor, and they need to tell his parents. He may be angry at you for telling, but that’s OK. Better angry than dead.

Is teen suicsuicide considered by some parents to be a form of teenage rebellion? Some parents think that it is only for scaring them.

I know some teens commit suicide seriously, while some teens just to scare their parents. Laters are mostly taking few pills than that is required to kill or jump from 2nd floor and broke a leg, cut wrists not too deep etc… But I cannot say the percentage of shows and real ones.

such they were abused, raped, someone very close to them passed on, they are clinically depressed.
People also forget not everyone has friends that are supportive or that are even to open to listening to their problems.
I knew a girl who was being sexually abused by her father and her mother refused to believe and instead blamed for the abuse. Wtf kind of parent is that?
suicide is only selfish on the perpetrators part if they are leaving others behind to grieve, and suicide is only cowardly if the person is doing it to run away from something.
The characteristic of the action is not black and white, it can be a variety of descriptions depending upon the situation.
