Some of his supporters say that to me “because he’s the best president ever and those who disagree are misinformed” but they can’t back it up.

Obama uses that phrase, often. Others use that phrase. The History I’ve studied of the Great Depression, has no comparison to today’s distress. People in the ‘middle class’ closed the factories and stores, the farmers left the land because it was barren. We don’t see that today, nor do we see hungry people walking the roads, looking for food, asking if they can do “some work for a meal?” Is comparing the current downturn to the Great Depression, as if they were equal in scope, correct?

Talk about the crisis of confidence all felt and that basic necessities like food were hard to get. The Great Depression was in many ways a crisis of abundance (too much supply) and no demand.
