depression doesnt care if you are rich or poor, young or old. Your friends/family/work collegues might not even know, and they might even question it if you told them. saying things like “youve got everything going for you” or “pull yourself together”. Trouble is, if it were that easy you would have “pulled yourself together” Its not about what you have or have not got, what you have lost or gained. Its all about what you perceive. If YOU think everything is bad and there is no way out then whether it is fact or not, to YOU it is fact! Remember that EMOTION is not always FACT. and however hopeless and out of control things may seem. It is just for a season. You will get through this. You will get through this! EMOTiON is not always FACT.

I hope you enjoy this piece of music I have composed. A lot of thought has gone into it, and my intention whilst writing, recording and editing this tune was and is for just YOU to turn helplessness into hope. I hope with all my heart that I have succeded. Please rate and comment. Never ever give up!

This is a musical experiment. I know that when you feel low if someone were to talk to you all bubbly and happy it would not help you, that person needs to bring themselves “temporarily” to your level to gain rapport and show understaning of what you are going through, they then need to gradually bring you out of your low mood, very carefully, in small steps not large. This tune I have composed tries to do this by music. It starts off quite sad and thereofore I hope on the same wavelength as the listener. It then slowly and carefully progresses on to much more positive chord sequences, speeding up in pace just enough to awaken the fight in you, then ends by being slowed down but with positive chords and notes. I would be very interested to see if this helps someone. My theory of building rapport, showing empathy, slowly being more positive, all without words is an experiment that I hope provides comfort. If just one person gains something positive from this then I am happy. Never give up!

What is the difference between minor depression and major depression ?

Isn’t a depression just a depression
I was diagnosed with major depression.
What’s the difference

This is the way I’ve always seen it:

Minor depression – a feeling of sadness caused by an event, but the feeling will pass. Eg, someone’s parent might die and they will feel very depressed for a while, but they will not need medication or therapy to feel better.

Major depression – a feeling of sadness with no apparent cause that is constant and lasts for months. Only medication and/or therapy can treat it. For example, a person might feel very sad all the time for a month even though nothing is really wrong in their life, because they have a chemical imbalance; a lack of a substance called ’seratonin’, and this causes the depression.

What would you do if you keep thinking about suicide?

I can't stop thinking about suicide, but I don't want to commit suicide. I just can't stop thinking about why my science teacher committed suicide. Why would he be so selfish and make everyone else miserable?

My science teacher committed suicide.
When coping with a death or suicide, you may go through all kinds of emotions. You may be sad, worried, or scared. You might be shocked, unprepared, or confused. You might be feeling angry, cheated, relieved, guilty, exhausted, or just plain empty. Your emotions might be stronger or deeper than usual or mixed together in ways you've never experienced before.
Some people find they have trouble concentrating, studying, sleeping, or eating when they're coping with a death or suicide of a close friend. Others lose interest in activities they used to enjoy. Some people lose themselves in playing computer games or eat or drink to excess.. All of these are normal ways to react to a death or suicide of a close friend

The grieving process takes time and healing usually happens gradually. The intensity of grief may be related to how sudden or predictable the loss was and how you felt about the person who died or committed suicide, in your case your science teacher. Some people write about grief happening in stages, but usually it feels more like "waves" or cycles of grief that come and go depending on what you are doing and if there are triggers for remembering the person who has died.

No matter how you choose to grieve, there's no one right way to do it. The grieving process is a gradual one that lasts longer for some people than others. There may be times when you worry that you'll never enjoy life the same way again, but this is a natural reaction after a loss.

Going forward and healing from grief doesn't mean forgetting about the person you lost. Getting back to enjoying your life doesn't mean you no longer miss the person. And how long it takes until you start to feel better isn't a measure of how much you loved the person. With time, the loving support of family and friends, and your own positive actions, you can find ways to cope with even the deepest loss of your science teacher who committed suicide

Take care as always and never lose hope! Hope is a precious commodity.
